Reviving a Forgotten Freetown: The Lives and Legacies of the US Colored Troops in Southeast Indianapolis

Join us for an exciting program with Kaila Austin, an artist, public historian, and community activist from Indianapolis. Ms. Austin will present "Reviving a Forgotten Freetown: The Lives and Legacies of the US Colored Troops in Southeast Indianapolis," a discussion of Norwood, a Reconstruction Era settlement founded by African American Civil War veterans just outside of Indianapolis.

This program is sponsored by a generous grant from Indiana Humanities Advancing Racial Equities Speakers Bureau.
